The destiny of the unbeliever

It is very easy to assume that those who believe in GOD, JESUSCHRIST and the HOLY SPIRIT, and act according to the word of GOD, will go to heaven at the time of the rapture or after the final judgment.

It is also clear that the evil people, those who steal, murder and blaspheme against GOD, JESUSCHRIST or the HOLY SPIRIT will end up in hell after the final judgment. But what it is not clear to many people is what happens to the unbelievers.

Are the unbelievers exempt from the judgment of GOD just because they don’t believe in HIM?
No, no one will escape from the judgment of GOD.

In essence, the unbelievers think GOD does not exist, and that the universe was not created. As a consequence, if there is a GOD that created everything (and there is), why would that GOD recompense with an eternity in heaven (GOD’S house) to those who do not believe HE exists?

It does not matter if the unbeliever is a “good person” or not. Their good works can not be recompensed since the one that does the recompensing does not exist according to themselves.

Moreover, since it is written in the Bible that JESUSCHRIST died on the cross for the remission of our sins, our salvation depends entirely on the belief that JESUSCHRIST is the son of GOD. JESUS is the only door to salvation, but to believe in HIM you must first believe that there is a GOD that sent HIS only son JESUS to save humanity by dying on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins.

If you don’t believe this, you are not saved and you will be judged at the endtimes under the law of GOD also known as the law of Moses.

The thing with the Law is that if you fail anyone of the commandments you failed the whole Law and you are guilty. Since the unbelievers do not believe in GOD, they do not love GOD, and they have failed the first commandment. They will be found guilty.

Their destiny is hell and eternal damnation. (Mat 22:36-38), “[36] Master, which is the great commandment in the law? [37] Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. [38] This is the first and great commandment.” KJV.

So far everything stated here is logical, but what does the bible specifically say about the unbelievers?

We find in (Rev 21: 7-9), “[7] He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. [8] But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” KJV.
This chapter just mentioned here is the one before last in the Bible. There is no change in the word of GOD after this, the destiny of the unbelievers will be the same as the destiny of the murderers.

We need to understand why the LORD is so harsh with the unbelievers.

First let’s see that there is no neutrality with the LORD. Either you are with HIM or against HIM. (Mat 12:30), “He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.” KJV.

This is JESUSCHRIST talking to the pharisees. Also notice that if you are with HIM, you must spread the word, the gospel of JESUSCHRIST.

There is no common ground between the believers and the unbelievers. (2 Cor 6:14), “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?” KJV.
The believers are opposite to the unbelievers, the unbelievers take offense if the believers talk the gospel to them, and the believers take offense if the unbelievers talk the big-bang or the evolution theories. Also notice that wherever the believers will end up, the unbelievers will go to the opposite place.

But the main condemnation against the unbelievers comes from (John 5:15-18), “[15] The man departed, and told the Jews that it was Jesus, which had made him whole. [16] And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things on the sabbath day. [17] But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work. [18] Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.” KJV.

These jews were the pharisees. They sought to kill JESUS (and finally did kill HIM), because they did not believe HE was the son of GOD. They killed the son of GOD because of their unbelief. This is the main reason why the unbelievers will end up in the same place as the murderers and the rest of the evil people.

If you say I wouldn’t have crucified JESUS had I been present at that time, don’t fool yourself, you kill GOD the FATHER every time you say HE doesn’t exist. And you do the same to JESUSCHRIST when you deny HIM.

Also, if you think that for not being a Jew you would have acted differently think again, according to the Bible, the unbelieving Jew and the unbelieving gentile react the same way against the gospel. (1 The 2:14-15), “[14] For ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God which in Judaea are in Christ Jesus: for ye also have suffered like things of your own countrymen, even as they have of the Jews: [15] Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they please not God, and are contrary to all men:” KJV.

Here Paul is talking to the Thessalonians, who have accepted the gospel of JESUSCHRIST, and they have suffered the same prosecution from their own countrymen as the CHRISTIAN Jews suffered from the pharisees.

I think it is pretty clear by now that being an unbeliever is a very bad sin. If you are an unbeliever you can change your destiny with three simple things:

  • Admit you are a sinner and repent of all your sins, for JESUS died on the cross for your salvation.
  • Believe in your heart that GOD raised JESUS from the dead.
  • Confess with your mouth that JESUS is LORD.

(Rom 10:9-10), “[9] That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. [10] For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” KJV.

Do this three things and you will be saved, you will be a newborn, an heir of the kingdom of GOD. You will be ready to receive the HOLY SPIRIT who will teach you the mysteries of GOD. Even if you do it at the last second of your life the LORD will save you, but don’t wait till then, how do you know if you will be awake and conscious to proclaim your faith and confession.

Salvation is a personal decision, only you can make it. Get saved now.
GOD bless you and keep you.
